Is Google Glass Evil?

On balance, is Google Glass a good thing or bad thing? (Isn’t it both?) Either way, do we really need this product? More importantly, should markets decide these key questions or law/politics?

I think the speaker’ discussion of google glass having a translating application could be very beneficial because language barriers can create misunderstandings, and tension between different groups of people. Additionally, this application could be infinitely valuable for deaf people, and those hard of hearing. Although the speaker spoke about the dangers of recording easily, I think some of the potential benefits of google glass (like the translation application) outweigh the disadvantages. Technology is so advanced that if someone wanted to record you, there are ample modes to do so already.

I agree … the potential benefits of Google Glass are huge … but so are the potential costs!
