Why haven’t any of the emergency-use covid vaccines received full approval from the FDA yet?
Update (8/1): Since Fauci is still out to lunch, my colleague and friend Alex Tabarrok has answered my query here.

I am on the same page regarding the COVID vaccine(s). The paucity of longitudinal data is very concerning. What are the long term effects of the vaccine?! I am not an anti-vaxxer, however, I would like sufficient research on a pharmaceutical drug before I get injected with it.
I find it humorous so many people who proclaim to be pro-science, have not given this consideration a second thought. At this point getting vaccinated is a gamble. I would also rather have a vaccine that prevents the virus rather than one that reduces the severity of the symptoms.
Hear, hear! Also, speaking of “science”, check this out: https://www.wsj.com/articles/covid-china-media-lab-leak-climate-ridley-biden-censorship-coronavirus-11627049477
I would certainly say that the scientific establishment is doing a great job of undermining itself.
