Boycott China?

Given the cover-up of the Wuhan lab-leak, the crack-down against the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong, and the atrocities in Xinjang province, why the heck are we still trading with China?

  1. It would probably be good to find an alternative trading partner with similar comparative advantages when it comes to manufacturing.

How does Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, and Indonesia compare? Let’s face it, with all the regulations and wage laws drives the price of consumer goods up. No one will pay full price for American, Canadian, or European produced household goods, trinkets, furniture, electronics, etc. Unless it is an upscale niche market, such as a boutique market. Where terms such as “handmade” and “ artisan” are focal points of articulating product quality.
