Free market economists are typically at a serious disadvantage.
It’s miracle that Hayek, Buchanan, Ostrom, Friedman, Lucas,etc received the award in the first place.
To add to my previous comment, this year they did select free market economists, but typical not the case.

In the case of Sowell, not sure what they are waiting for, he’s already in his 90s.
