    This seemingly chaotic design reminds me of scenes from black Friday that mark the commencement of the holiday season. Similar to the drivers, the shoppers are self-interested, and do follow a set plan because they intend to adapt to others around them.

    Good analogy. By the way, this is probably why stampedes by shoppers (when they occur) make headlines … because they are so rare!
