This time at UMass Amherst. The students who were suspended for not wearing their masks were not only outdoors; they were off campus too! I see that the zealotry of the Puritans is still alive and well in New England. Where else does this Puritan spirit reign?

You see different variants of Puritanism in various cultures based upon the societal norms.
However, Texas does seem overall less restrictive when compared to Massachusetts.
Having grown up in Massachusetts, I can tell you first hand Puritanism extends far beyond codified statutes and local ordinances. It is entrenched in the collective psyche of the citizens of the commonwealth. Even these regulations that are nonsensical, oftentimes are defended as common sense.
