He was a great jazz musician, but must confess that I absolutely love jazz fusion.
I would personally nominate Bitches Brew for this spot. While Sketches of Spain was a theatric masterpiece, Brew brought jazz into the vibrant modern era.
I know most critics revile fusion as elevator music, but I love the “weather channel” music to death.
Long live the works Spyro Gyra, Chick Correa, The Rippingtons, and the Yellow Jackets.
Excellent choices. By the way, I am a huge fan of Latin Jazz. Cal Tjader forever!!!
Are you familiar with the Fantasy SCOTUS website? Just saw it for the first time on Volokh today.
https://fantasyscotus.net/
Yes, very much so; I love that concept; also, here is the top of the “Fantasy SCOTUS” leaderboard: https://reason.com/volokh/2022/07/08/congratulations-to-bill-corteal-the-chief-justice-of-fantasyscotus-ot-2021/
I participated Fantasy Football once seven years ago, that was intense. I have feeling in the SCOTUS adaptation; competition is fierce.
After all, most of the competitors are most likely legal scholars or practicing lawyers.
Also, do you know of any good papers defending IP right (not necessarily IP laws) from a private law or polycentric legal framework?
I am not persuaded by Tom G.Palmer, Hans Hermann Hoppe, orStephan Kinsella’s arguments against IP. That much of the issues with IP could be resolved through alternative (private) IP legal regimes.
Same here! This is an epic debate; I will check my files and report back soon …
Follow-up: here is a book-length defense of IP rights: https://www.elgaronline.com/view/9781847203953.xml
The first chapter is ungated; I will see if I can access the other chapters via my university library.
Thanks. I will have to incorporate this first chapter into my research.
